Tdgraves smaller big year 2023

I went to a different part of the reserve on Tuesday that I haven't been to in over a year, due to the treacherous entrance road and the fact that they had done earthworks and it needed time to recover. I was pleased to discover a new path which allows closer access to scrubland, if not the reedbeds and I had the whole place to myself! Only one new tick through, was convinced I had a willow warbler, but closer inspection of the photos revealed it to be a chiffchaff.

After our conference in Boston, we went to the Bahamas for a week to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a half day birding trip, otherwise, it was just around the hotel grounds. I'll start with the lifers....

The only endemic present on the island. Again, we saw it on our birding trip, but there was a very obliging one in the garden outside of our room, so I had plenty of practice...

Well done on 200 (and 20!)

You saw some great birds and beautiful photos on the Bahamas.

I really like the Pied Pigeon, the Rail, and the Woodstar on the nest is amazing.
