Crickey!!!! Just lucky, Paul ..........

Believe it or not - we were driving all over the place to find the cheetah boys who were split up the previous day (yes, yet again) ......... when we came upon this scene. Actually, i didn't want to stop - but, Spencer insisted that this was a can't miss ...... Haha

@@madaboutcheetah that is cracking shot and your hyena seems to be the bravest, considering the depth it's ventured into.

Thanks - I just think it was at one of the large pans. I think they had a week of rain that year end of Sept itself.

Angry Hippo - It was midday and we were driving through Kwara (Botswana) when we were charged by this big guy. It was quite a nerve-racking encounter as it was the first time I experienced a hippo charging a vehicle in the daytime. He was solitary and the guide thought he may have been ill (you can see him salivating in the photo). He had blocked our path, so the guide switched off the engine and our tracker was instructed to get into the vehicle. We waited for about 10 minutes until the hippo moved on.

@@africapurohit - In Feb 2011, we were chased twice by a Hippo out of water in the daytime in Kwara. However, I wonder if he's the same???

Sri-Lankan Leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya), Yala National Park, Sri-Lanka; July 2009.

Sri-Lanka has no lions or tigers and so the leopard (Kotiya in Sinhala) is the top cat. Males of the Sri-Lankan leopard are amongst the largest leopards in the World. This guy was huge, looked like he worked out and took anabolic steroids!

The image below is of poor quality but is worth close scrutiny as this was one lucky pig!

Pay close attention to the area above and to the left of the pig. Fortunately for this Wild Boar, the Spotted voyeur had recently dined on Spotted Deer!

@@ZaminOz the Kwando vehicles had no roof or sides, allowing you to lie down on the floor of the vehicle to get very low angles. I was only a few metres away but zoomed out to 400mm to get the shot.
