Dear Carina,

I can't wait to see more photos and your text from Lagoon camp. I stayed there in July of 2011 for three days, and I'm going there again as well as Tuba Tree in August. You may be a newbie but you are rapidly earning my respect as well as that of many other members of safaritalk.net

I send you my warmest wishes as always,Owen

Panthera Pardus

Please indulge me to post two pictures of the day. Same subject but a story behind it. It is a Pearl Spotted Owlet seen In Kruger in June 2012 on the H7. The Pearl Spotted Owlet has false eyes at the back of its head which will confuse predator and prey when looking at this bird from behind.

@@Panthera Pardus fantastic photos - the way these birds position and pose for your camera, I'm sure you've signed them up on some sort of photographic contract :)

This very elderly looking lion in Chitabe (Botswana) reminded me of the lion from the original 1939 "Wizard of Oz" film.

People worry a lot about avoiding high grass on safaris, but if you catch it right I think grass is beautiful. Of course you end up with 500 crappy shots for every amazing onelike this, but I likes a challenge............

Thanks. I would agree with you as long as you are able to visit multiple times per year, otherwise the rest of pics from three days are all impeded by the grass, which was pretty frustrating.
