I'm definitely with the Flowerpeckers on this one!

But which one @Dave Williams ?

Dave Williams

Has to be @Galana 's  Pale-billed @ Ceylonese which is a common species whereas the Lesser Whitethroat not only looks different but is an uncommon vagrant. You should find the latter in the UK though so all is far from lost!

An excellent view of the varied birds of Sri Lanka @Tdgraves. I especially liked the pitta, Painted Stork, Barbet and the bee-eater photos.

Just enjoyed catching up with all your lovely Sri Lankan birds @Tdgraves, I particularly liked the yellow fronted barbet.

Now I think I am done from Sri Lanka. I have been desperately searching through thousands of pictures to try and find a few, but to no avail. There were definitely some where we only had a brief sighting and definitely had no shots, such as the Jacobin and chestnut-winged cuckoo yellow-footed green pigeon and sirkeer malkoha, but there are another 9 on my list which I can't find. Anyway, 161 for BY out of 174 total for two weeks isn't at all bad (and I have taken out the "whitethroat"). I suppose there is always a chance of finding one or two when I do the TR, but I have been through the folders many times...

I have really enjoyed your Sri Lanka section, and you got a really good total there.

It is frustrating trying to find those last couple of birds hidden in folders!

It is an excellent count, @Tdgraves! Ours had same numbers just in different order: 116 . Will there be a trip report of a kind?

Don't worry about your Whitethroat. Lots about now in UK.

I confess to momentary confusion with your Whooper and Pinkfoots. Then I saw the date taken. ;)

Annoyingly I missed a tree sparrow in the car park when I arrived - I'll get that later I thought, but of course, this was all I got...

In a "where's wally?" type way - can I convince you that the small interlopers (not the lapwings) are dunlin?

and if anyone ( @Galana ?) can ID this duck, I'll be eternally grateful
