When we passed through the town of Mathura on the way to Keolada (where these were taken), there was a swampy area at the edge of the town, by the side of a busy road. There were hundreds of Swamphens there (unfortunately we couldn't stop because of traffic - but had a chance for a photo here at Keolada.

It is enjoyable to see Peafowl living as "real" birds - a bit of a surprise to us seeing one up a tree. We see them in the UK where they are usually part of "collections" but so much better to see them in the wild.
