Hmm @Soukous are they breeding outside of the farm?

Well it would get a bit messy if they did it indoors.

Not these 2. They were brought in several years ago and just mooch around.

I don't think they are particularly attractive and I'm not at all sure why anybody would want them in the first place, unless they are part of the security detail.

They may come in handy when the Supermarket shelves get emptied in the next round of panic buying!

I see these birds every day, but never really took much interest. They seem content to spend their time harassing the Buzzards and Kestrels.

But in times such as these ebc rings more trues than ever

I was lucky. I had to react so quickly that I hardly even looked at whet I was photographing, except of course I knew it was the Coal Tit. It was only when I looked at the photos later I realised how close I'd got.

I sincerely hope it doesn't, but I'm making no promises. I think that if I have to include that one my BY will be beyond salvage. :(

#125 - Barn Owl - update

The road that leads to where I have been seeing the Barn Owl has been undergoing re-surfacing during the past week, so it wasn't possible to see if it was still frequenting the same perches. Road works finished on Thursday, so I managed to get out for a look this morning.

It wasn't on the first perch, but it was on the second one, which has much better light in the early morning, so I was very happy. He/she sat and debated whether to fly off for a short while, but it was long enough.

Unfortunately, he/she was facing the wrong way for me to get a picture of the leg tag as that leg was hidden.

Great Barn owl pictures, I have to go looking for them but it will have to be during the night, I never saw them in daytime.

Not guaranteed but I reckon it was He.

Female is more spotted and streaked front and back and anyway she will most likely be brooding the owlets at this time of year.

Great photos. Envious.
