Thanks everybody. Not completely healthy yet and still quarantined but quite alright. At least this helped me make some progress with my Uganda photos. :-)

15/E15) Common Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita) / Zilpzalp

Gaisau/Tirol, 19/3/22. My first one this year - a sure sign spring is just around the corner. Also saw a Lapwing - a very rare bird in my area.

Your photos from local birding area are a sure sign that covid has not left any impact on your photographic skills!

Don’t know about that but certainly enjoyed my first „free“ day after quarantine! :)

18/E18) Carrion Crow (Corvus corone) / Rabenkrähe

Innsbruck Airport/Tirol, 20/3/22. Nobody´s favourite - but it was sitting nicely in the sun this morning.

19/E19) Eurasian Hoopoe (Upupa epops) / Wiedehopf

Innsbruck Airport/Tirol, 20/3/22. I was a bit grumpy this morning because we had planned to go to Chiemsee for a full day of birding bonanza. Did not yet quite feel up to that drive so reluctantly had to abandon that. But this sighting made up for it - very happy to see my favourite bird, even if it was very distant.  :D By far my earliest record, I´ve never before seen one in March. (Not that I often see one of course.)

21/E21) Short-Toed Treecreeper (Certhia brachydactyla) / Gartenbaumläufer

Innsbruck Airport/Tirol, 20/3/22. One of our constant local ID riddles - Eurasian Treecreeper looks almost the same. Much easier in spring - the song is different, and this one was quite vocal.

Sorry to hear about the covid. Do hope it's the last time ever, snd the last ST member to get it too!

23/E23) Water Pipit (Anthus spinoletta) / Bergpieper

Flughafen Innsbruc/Tirol, 23/3/2022. A "vertical migrant". Abundant in summer high up in the mountains, they come down to the rivers and lakes in the cold season.

29/E29) Eurasian aka Green-Winged Teal (Anas crecca) / Krickente

Tiebelmündung/Carinthia, 26/3/2022. Not too common in Austria, and they rarely allow close approach like that.

32/E32) Lesser Spotted Woodpecker (Dryobates minor) / Kleinspecht

Tiebelmündung/Carinthia, 26/3/2022. Always a delightful species to get. They are not that rare but very hard to spot. A lot easier early in the year when they are quite vocal.
