830/EC299) Rufous-Rumped Antwren (Euchrepomis callinota) / Rostbürzel-Ameisenfänger

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. A confusing Antwren, high up. Byron had not seen this one, and I went through a lot of Tyrannulets in the app. Despaired and then asked Byron who kindly pointed out I was looking in the wrong family.

831/EC300) Plain-Backed Antpitta (Grallaria haplonota) / Ockerbart-Ameisenpitta

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. Finally something resembling a proper photo. Wild Sumaco have also started with the Antpitta wormfeeding trick. "Exceptionally difficult to see", ebird says. Well, not here. I guess all photos with this species found online were taken here.

832/EC301) Olive-Striped Flycatcher (Mionectes olivaceus) / Olivkopf-Pipratyrann

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. I will never complain about Cisticolas and Pipits again. Not after a felt million of Tyrannulets, Leaftossers and Antbirds which all absolutely look the same.

833/EC302) Crested Oropendola (Psarocolius decumanus) / Krähenstirnvogel

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. Unfortunately absolutely refused to come out and play.

834/EC233) Sharp-Tailed Streamcreeper (Lochmias nematura) / Flussufer-Stachelschwanz

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. Almost always found in the vicinty of forested streams but normally hiding. Byron was quite excited to see it that "well".

835/EC304) Andean Motmot (Momotus aequatorialis) / Hochlandmotmot

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. The name “motmot” comes from the double-hooting call, which can sound like an owl, and is mainly uttered around dawn. Very tricky lighting unfortunately.

836/EC305) Orange-Eared Tanager (Chlorochrysa calliparaea) / Schwarzkehl-Bunttangare

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. Wild Sumaco has no fruit feeders, so no Disneyland Tanager shots. Apparently there´s so many fruit in the forest that the feeders just don´t work. That´s what I was told at least.

837/EC306) Ashy-Throated Chlorospingus aka Bush-Tanager (Chlorospingus canigularis) / Graukehl-Grünammer

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. Quite rare in foothill forest. I do apologise for this extensive batch of very, very poor photos. As much as I loved running around the tracks photography was really super-tricky here.

842/EC311) Olive-Backed Woodcreeper (Xiphorhynchus triangularis) / Olivrücken-Baumsteiger

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. I know this is getting tough but just imagine I would have posted my usual way, in scientific order, and you could have enjoyed about 100 Woodcreepers, Foliage-Gleaners, Antwrens and Tyrannulets in one go! :D

844/EC313) Dark-Breasted Spinetail (Synallaxis albigularis) / Dunkelbrust-Dickichtschlüpfer

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. I was quite happy with this, easily my best Spinetail photo. Quite a handsome one, and thankfully not a bird of deep forest, more at home in entanglements in clearings. So a relatively "easy" one.

845/EC314) Grey-Rumped Swift (Chaetura cinereiventris) / Graubürzelsegler

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. We had finally ended the track and were ambling along the main road between the lodge and the neighbouring village.

Wild Sumaco, 17/8/2022. "Drab and unremarkable" Flycatcher, says the official description. Could not agree more. But at least out in the open. :)

850/EC319) Blackish Rail (Pardirallus nigricans) / Trauerralle
