Some cracking shots but the Secretary Bird is my standout. Very enviable capture.

Thanks Fred and the mystery bird?

Well now. I don't think it is  a Pipit as there are no Malar stripes and it is surprising fact that Kenya is particularly 'short' of Pipit species.

So having wondered loosely on a Pale Prinia I fear we are left with the dreaded 'C' Word.

Most likely we have 'just' another Zitter very similar to your offering at #378. Even the vegetation looks similar.

But if you would like another tick then the 'common and widespread' cousin of Zit is Desert Cisticola which fits well.

Having caught up now, sleep as well as library, I would go for that and offer praise to your efforts. I met none of your kin north of the border but maybe will share birds when I get to Tsavo next year!

Without a positive ID on my mystery bird, I am drawing a line under Kenya. I have looked at lots of pipits and larks and think they are all the same ones as already posted....

I have managed to get out and about here a bit (in between the much needed rain).
