325. Eastern Wood Peewee

what a name for a pretty flycatcher, but good of it to give the front and back views. :)

327. American Robin

When we saw the juvenile, we were very sure it was a thrush so we were surprised to learn it was a juvenile american robin. It all made sense when we learned that the American Robin is actually part of a larger thrush family. It was named a robin because its orange breast looked like the European robin, although both are not related.

I didn't want to end the Canadian list with the awful shots of the faraway water teals, but with one of the species we were very keen to see.

343. Cedar Waxwing

One of the prettier birds in the Americas, there was a flock of them flying up and down a couple of trees. but a couple of them posed rather well for a couple of nice shots. I was elated to see them.

Courting displays

In the end, we got 57 species from Canada - Arctic and Ottawa. Given the weather challenges and issues at Floe's edge, I think we are content. we just need to go back for... the SNOW OWL.

One day.

Very nice Warblers, and love the Waxwing. That add-on was quite productive. And sorry, somehow failed to notice you had passed the third century, belated congrats!

What a beautiful bird to end your Canada birds with!  Somehow it feels wrong to have the House Sparrow as #329 on the list…;)

That goes for me too. I did note it at the time but omitted to offer congratulations until you are romping along and almost half way to the next.;)
