178/G178) Pantanal aka South-American Snipe (Gallinago paraguaiae) / Magellanbekassine

Karanambu. Exploded in flight after we flushed it. The old name (South-American Snipe) makes much more sense, it is widespread across the Continent.

180/G180) Little Blue Heron (Egretta caerulea) / Blaureiher

Karanambu. No idea why this (rather small bird) is a Heron and not an Egret.

181/G181) Agami Heron (Agamia agami) / Speerreiher

Karanambu. A spectacular bird high on my list. Chuffed we found it, although I would have preferred to see it in some light, it was in very deep shadow.

Thank you @Tdgraves! :)

184/G184) Black-Collared Hawk (Busarellus nigricollis ) / Fischbussard

Karanambu. This bird was uber-common in the Pantanal but we really had to work to find one here, and it was not very cooperative.

190/G190) Capuchinbird (Perissocephalus tricolor) / Kapuzinerkotinga

Karanambu. The display call of lekking males is one of the strangest avian sounds, similar to a distant chain saw or cow. Listen here. Hearing it was as cool as seeing it.

199/G199) Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl (Glaucidium brasilianum) / Brasilzwergkauz

Karasabai. Looking so different from the bird I saw in Ecuador I first doubted my guide´s ID. He was right of course.

Compare - the Guinean form:

And the (much more colourful) one from Ecuador:
