Hey Inyathi,

That shot is a FAIL, pure and simple. This is the best I could make out of it. I guess we'll neer know what it is. Perhaps even an ostrich with an inferiority complex! :)

This is a hard one but I'm going to guess and say is it a female Cape weaver?

OK clearly not a cape weaver so how about a spot-backed or village weaver Ploceus cucullatus ? otherwise I'm stumped on this one.

I think Inyathi is right, it's a female village weaver.

Yellow Bellied Bread Crumb Eater?

LOL I actually thought this was a female southern masked weaver but I'm willing to stand corrected!

I think both species were present at the feeders..

It's very hard to tell as the females look similar.

Actually I also wondered about southern masked weaver so I can’t guarantee I’m right about it being a village weaver

As JohnR says

Here’s a new one anyway.

Is it a Grey Pratincole?

Yes well done KittyKat, I thought this one might be a little difficult as the species is from Western Central Africa, this bird was photographed in Loango NP in Gabon. Although it's a western species it has evidently once been recorded in Uganda as the species is included in Stevenson & Fanshawe's Birds of East Africa.

Over to you

Okay this one should be fairly easy... choice of two really... :D

As a bonus, does anyone know what sunbird this is? Taken at Rooi Els.

Hi Guys!

I am new to SafariTalk and an avid birder (Jochen will know!) Last Post - I would say Indian Yellow-nosed Albatross and female Malachite Sunbird.

Yup, I do know! :D

And I think I can safely assume that whatever answer you give will be correct. Unless you want to pull our leg. :P

NOT a yellow throated longclaw??

Weird. That was going to be my guess too. A cape longclaw perhaps? (since the blurred one in the back has a more orange throat)
