Intermezzo...

The missing pics in previous posts are:

Bulbul

Red billed fire finch

White browed coucal

Hunters sunbird

Pin tailed whydah

Great spotted cuckoo

Black kite

Red-fronted barbet

Nubian woodpecker

Von der Decken hornbill

I placed them behind links as to not confuse with the bird we look above.

Reading back this thread; it WAS a lot of fun and certainly deserves to be continued.

Edit; see previous page for the bird we are looking for!

For the ID, it looks like one of the Go-Away birds but I don't know which one.

Don't want to make an elephant out of a mouse but... you are totally wrong.

...K that was a tip ;-)

Funny, but my 1st guess was going to be a mousebird but I thought it looked too big. What would I know!! :o

Jochen, I would say 'speckled mousebird'. I have only seen this bird twice, once in the woods behind Knysna, and also on

the South African/Mozambique border, at a camp that I think no longer exists, Ndumo.

Great picture there Jochen, once I had it fully downloaded, oh the joys of 'dial up'.

These birds were very common in my folks garden in Zimbabwe, frequent visiter to our bird feeders chasing every other bird away! They had so much chacter too. We would count up to 20+- at a time.

I'm not sure about this one. Could it be a female rock-jumper?

i tried including the image from several websites (flickr and imageshack) or directly upload it, all don't seem to work...

Directly after posting it showed from imageshack, but now it doesn't :S

I don't know what Imageshack is doing but I've seen it on other forums where a lot of pictures suddenly aren't working anymore. It claims 'Domain Unregistered'.

From flickr I get the message (on this board): You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board...blabla.

So now I created an album here for just this picture, also not ideal.
