This is a female. We did not see the male, which would be black and white. But this is a pretty little bird anyway!

I have put the third photo in (despite the male bird having no head!) because a small beam of sunlight is shining on the bright red patch on its back, whick leads to the name of "Fireback". Most of the time this is not easily visible.

A very cool bird indeed! Really enjoy your Malaysian additions, many totally unknown to me (or I have just forgotten them from previous Big Years). Also like the LPF a lot, I have a soft spot for these smaller Flycatchers.
